TBT July 30th 2015 Buckingham Branch


Some more railfanning pictures this week.  These are from 2004 and 2005 and feature the Buckingham Branch:


Yes those BB hoppers you see on the layout are real.  #3002 in Louisa on the original Virginia Midland before it was C&O.

BB #3000 sits in a spur in Louisa, VA.

The Old Dominion Chapter NRHS runs excursions on the original BB in Dillwyn, VA.  Here is #1 leading one of the fall excursions.

Railfanning this week The Buckingham Branch video



In this video, we find the BB running on their original line, from Dillwyn, VA to New Canton, VA. At New Canton, they shove over the James River to CSX's Strathmore Yard for interchange.  The caboose is for the shove all the way back to Dillwyn on the 17 mile return trip.  The BB is the largest short line in the state of Virginia and got their start here.
